Brave New Film’s “The War on Whistle Blowers”

Robert Greenwald and Brave New Films have produced another important documentary, the War on Whistleblowers. Bradley Manning revealed war crimes, but instead of investigating and prosecuting the perpetrators, the US government subjected Manning to treatment denounced by the United Nations as “cruel and inhuman.” He faces life in prison, while those who committed grave violations of international law are protected and even promoted.

Edward Snowden revealed that the NSA is collecting and storing all of our personal information. He provided proof that what many suspected is in fact occurring at a scale that beggars description. The infrastructure of a turn-key police state is being constructed before our eyes and at our expense, as Snowden’s revelations demonstrate. He is a classic whistleblower, but the US government is pulling out all the stops to catch or kill him. Such official lawlessness and disregard for the constitution presents a clear and present danger to our liberties and right to non-violent dissent.

They will even pay for the shipping. The war is coming home, and the American public is in the crosshairs of the military industrial complex. Protecting whistleblowers like Manning and Snowden is central to preserving our own freedom.
